This is a brand-new, dedicated role built from 0 to 1. 2–3 years of finance/accounting experience is enough; no spoken Japanese needed and no Big Four background required. If your résumé fits, you'll have a single interview, and the decision is made in that one round.

Job description

You will lead a newly launched cross-border finance project, building the system from scratch instead of cleaning up someone else's mess.

Accounting for Japanese entities

  • Day-to-day bookkeeping, receipts and payments, and bank account management
  • Monthly bookkeeping, month-end closing and management reports
  • Work with Japanese tax accountants and prepare materials for closing and tax filings
  • Manage intercompany balances, advances, and shareholder loans among the Japanese entities

Project financial management

  • Manage land, design, construction, operating, and other costs for each real estate project
  • Manage Project Budget vs. Actual
  • Tracking investor capital contributions and remaining fund balances
  • Manage cash flow and upcoming payment needs for each company in Japan

Cross-entity consolidation and reporting

  • Consolidating accounting information from overseas entities in BVI, Singapore, Hong Kong, and elsewhere
  • Build and improve the overall financial management system for the Japan projects
  • Regularly report on cross-border finances and cash flow to the owner

Requirements

Required
  • Background in finance or accounting (relevant degree or work experience)
  • 2+ years of finance/accounting experience
  • Familiar with finance and accounting systems
  • Basic English reading skills, enough to understand finance/investment terms such as IRR and simple contract terms
  • Flexible and a good communicator, able to adjust how you work to company decisions and changes
Preferred qualifications
  • Hands-on accounting experience at a Japanese company, or experience in a Japan-related industry
  • Work experience in Japan or other overseas experience
  • Experience in construction or the hotel/hospitality industry
  • Experience in project accounting or cost accounting
  • Experience with multi-entity/group accounting
  • Experience in investor management or project fund management

Why this opportunity

A newly created position, not a mess you inherit from someone else

As the Japan real estate development projects have grown, finance work that 1–2 people used to handle on the side is no longer enough. This is a newly created dedicated role: rather than inheriting someone else's framework, you will build from scratch a financial management system that brings together multiple locations, including Japan, BVI, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Approachable requirements—the company values flexibility over credentials

A Big Four accounting firm background isn't required, and neither is 3–5 years of senior experience—2–3 years in finance or accounting is enough to be considered. The company cares more about your flexibility, cooperativeness, and potential than about years of experience.

Low language pressure—you won't have to handle spoken Japanese or English on your own

You'll work with financial materials in Japanese and English, but there is a dedicated accounting contact in Japan who handles closing and tax matters, so you won't have to carry Japanese communication alone. For English, only basic reading ability is required, and the company provides translation/AI tools, so no speaking ability is needed.

A streamlined interview process with no endless back-and-forth

If your résumé meets the requirements, you'll have one in-person interview (Da'an District, Taipei) and the decision is made in that single round—no long, multi-round process.

Report directly to the owner, with high visibility

The role has no direct reports and no involvement in investment decisions, but you will regularly brief the owner on cross-border finances and cash flow, and be closely involved in building the company's overall financial system and consolidating information for decision-making.

FAQ

Do I need to speak Japanese?+

You will come across materials in Japanese, but there is already a dedicated local accounting contact in Japan who handles closing and tax matters, so you won't have to manage Japanese communication on your own, and fluent Japanese is not required.

Do I need spoken English?+

No. You only need basic English reading skills—for example, understanding finance/investment terms such as IRR and simple contract terms. The company also provides translation/AI tools.

Is Big Four accounting firm experience required?+

No, and it isn't a plus either. This is an in-house accounting role within a Japanese real estate development group, focused on day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly closing reports, and project cost control, reporting directly to the owner. It doesn't follow the Big Four audit-team structure or rotation model, so please make sure this type of work fits your expectations before applying.

Do I need investment decision-making experience?+

No. This role does not involve investment decisions or managing people, and you don't need to master the local tax laws of every overseas location.

Is there room to negotiate a higher salary?+

A monthly salary from NT$55,000 is the confirmed baseline. Actual flexibility and the conditions for passing probation will be discussed at the interview.

Do I need 3–5 years of experience to apply?+

No. 2–3+ years of finance or accounting experience is enough to be considered. The company values flexibility, cooperativeness, and growth potential more than length of experience.
