Job description
Build datasets and define metrics
- Build analytical datasets and metric models (lead): turn raw data into reusable Data Marts in BigQuery (and the Lakehouse platform being adopted), owning the full process from clarifying requirements and modeling to validation, launch, and maintenance, while acting as the bridge between data engineering and business applications
- Define metrics and maintain the data dictionary (lead): define the group's core metrics (cross-service activity, member identity matching, retention, and more) and align calculation methods and business logic with each business unit
Safeguard quality and drive adoption
- Safeguard data quality: work with the data engineering team to verify data entering the data platform, set up anomaly detection, and trace issues back to their source to resolve them
- Promote a data-driven culture: serve as data advisor and point of contact for each business unit, design and maintain business dashboards, and help roll out AI/BI self-service query tools (including semantic configuration, answer quality improvement, and user training)
- Topic analysis and governance collaboration: use self-built datasets and work with segmentation and CDP colleagues to address operational issues; handle data according to personal data classification and access rules
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, Analytics Engineering, or business analysis
- Hands-on experience applying AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini) to everyday workflows to improve efficiency and project quality
- Advanced SQL and hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery or equivalent), with the ability to handle large-scale data and an awareness of query costs; basic data processing skills in Python
- Hands-on data modeling: you have designed analytical datasets or dimensional models (Star Schema) that went into production and were used by others over the long term
- Able to define metrics and validation methods from vague business needs, and to align definitions clearly with different teams
- Holds high standards for data accuracy: validates and cross-checks work before delivery
- End-to-end experience with a BI tool (Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI), from requirements interviews through launch, with the ability to define scope, set timelines, and deliver independently
- Able to clearly explain analysis results and metric limitations to non-technical managers and operations teams; happy to teach others how to use data
- Experience with SQL version control using dbt, Git, and similar tools, and with the Modern Data Stack
- Experience with a lakehouse or data governance platform (such as Databricks or Snowflake) or a semantic layer
- Uses AI/LLM tools to speed up analysis and development, or has experience implementing AI/BI
- Event tracking and tagging design (GA4, GTM)
- Hands-on experience with membership programs, CDP, segmentation and tagging, or A/B Testing
- Experience in media, e-commerce, or membership-based services; basic knowledge of personal data protection law/GDPR
- Specialized in statistics, applied mathematics, or information management, and able to perform data analysis and business interpretation independently
Why this opportunity
The metrics you define are used by others every day
This role builds reusable datasets and metrics that become the foundation for each business unit's dashboards, in-depth analysis, and AI self-service queries. These are not one-off reports that get thrown away.
Full ownership from requirements to launch
You will lead the work from clarifying requirements and modeling to validation, launch, and maintenance, and sit between data engineering and business applications, connecting the language of both sides.
Working conditions during the assignment follow the Labor Standards Act
During the staffing period, you sign a formal employment contract with Step1ne (德仁管理顧問有限公司). Wages, labor and health insurance, and annual leave follow the Labor Standards Act.
