Construction Project Assistant (Tokyo, Japan / Chinese & Japanese)Accompany architects and contractors to meetings in Tokyo as interpreter, check design and construction progress, and translate construction documents and contracts; full-time, two days off every week
The heart of this role is making sure the Taiwan head office and the local construction team in Japan can understand each other. You will attend and interpret at meetings with Japanese architectural firms and construction companies, confirm planning, design, and construction progress, and coordinate with furniture and interior design vendors for company-owned properties (such as villas). Translating architectural documents, drawings, and contracts makes up the largest share of the work. Before applying, please confirm two things: first, you need at least one year of hands-on experience at an architectural firm or in an architecture-related role; second, you must be able to use both Chinese and Japanese in business settings. An architect's license is not required. The workplace is in Kudanshita, Chiyoda, Tokyo, and you will generally work from the office.

Why this opportunity
More than translation
Translation is a large part of the job, but sitting between the architects, the construction company and head office, you will see how an architecture project moves from planning and design through to construction. For anyone aiming for a career in architectural project management, it offers a very complete perspective.
Use your Chinese and Japanese directly in architectural work
The language skills here are used on drawings, contracts and engineering meetings—not general front-desk interpreting. Construction experience plus Chinese and Japanese makes you very hard to replace.
Clear, predictable schedule
Fixed hours of 9:00–18:00, two full days off every week, no early-morning or late-night shifts, and probation terms identical to formal employment.
Cross-border Team
Partners and the hiring team come from different countries and cultural backgrounds, and you will work alongside professional teams in Tokyo and across Japan.
